Have old picture frames laying around and don't know what to do with them? Here's a project that turns something old into something new!
I recently moved and discovered that one of my picture frames wasn't so lucky to make it here alive! (broken glass). So instead of throwing the lovely frame away.. I decided to revamp this old picture frame into something new.
For this project you will need:
Scrap fabric of your choice (2 different types)
Hot glue gun/ sticks
total cost for this project about $4 dollars or in my case (totally free :) )
Step 1: take the glass out of the picture frame and remove the back card board
Step 2: cut out fabric large enough to cover the front end of the cardboard
Step 3: Glue fabric to card board to provide a back drop for your picture frame
Step 4: Find a flower pattern of your choice and cut out pattern pieces. (in my case i used a square then trimmed edges to make a rounded rectangle then i glued the bottom piece of the flower to form the shape of the petal)
Step 5: Design pieces to fit in a pattern then glue down in its proper space
Whala!! you have a brand wall art for your newly
decorated home!

DIY Twine Coasters (Decorate your home series)
For this project you will need:
(twine, cork coaster, hot glue gun)
I brought some twine from walmart (also available at the dollar tree for 1 dollar) and some cork coasters from Ikea for 99 cent
Step 1: Start your gluing around the coaster edge and continue around until you reach the next row. (I glued the edge down towards the center so that I could cover it up with the twine as I went around the coaster.
SN: as you can tell I chose to use the non decorative side so that way the coaster can be exchanged between the designs so its kind of like a two for one deal! (smart right?? I know... HA!)
Step 2: Continue gluing the twine around the coaster until you reach its center.
Easy as pie right??? Hope you enjoyed this post and try it for yourself! These not only decorate your home but make great housewarming presents as well!

Braided Flower Headband
So I was cleaning up the house today going through some stuff I haven't seen since we moved in this apartment... (smh) and I found this twine...
I have no idea where it came from but my guess is that you can find it at walmart... (they have everything... literally)
I cut two sets of 3 long strands of twine and braided them together each set separately.. then tied them together to make a double braided headband...
I also made a matching pair of earrings to match the flower (also out of twine) that was on the headband.
Here is a close up of the headband.

next I think I am going to make a belt and a necklace :)

Thrift store transformation
I went thrifting again and found this awesome long sleeved shirt for a $1.50. ( awesome buy!) but it was just too plain for me so I decided to jazz it up.
First thing I did was cut the sleeves off to make it weather appropriate..
Next I used some old t-shirts I had lying around the house and cut narrow strips out of the shirt
I then went to my sewing machine and used a basic long running stitch down the center of the strip and created a ruffle ( i decided not to use the white in the shirt)
Next I pinned the ruffles to the shirt in a pattern I liked and overstitched the previous stitching and whala! a brand new shirt!
Hope you enjoyed this post comment, subscribe and tell your friends thanks! Happy crafting :)

How to make a Ruffle Pillow from an over-sized T shirt
Hey guys... its been a while.. you missed me? Well I have been crafting and today i am going to show you how to make a pillow from a T shirt. ( sorry about the low quality pictures... my camera is in the shop so I have been using my cellphone as my primary camera)
For this project you will need
1. an over-sized t- shirt of your choice
2. A rotary cutter or scissors
3.Sewing Machine or needle and thread
4. Pins to hold fabric
5. Stuffing to put inside your pillow
Lets get started....
Step 1: Lay your t shirt out on a flat surface i brought this for 1 dollar at the thrift store.
Step 2: Using your rotary cutter or scissors cut a 14x14 inch square from your t-shirt
Step 3: using the rest of your t shirt cut about 12- to 15 strips of fabric about 24 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide to make your ruffles.. ( sorry i forgot to take a picture of this step)
Step 4: Sew a gathering stitch down the ruffle either with your sewing machine or by hand leaving enough thread to be pulled later.
Step 5: Pull the bobbin thread to create your ruffle and pin ruffle down on pillow front. repeat steps 4 and 5 for each ruffle once finished pinning ruffles sew onto pillow front using the same gathering stitch as your guide. be sure to back stitch.
Step 6: Pin pillow front and pillow back facing each other and sew around the edges leaving a 5 inch gap on one side.. ( you will close this later)
Step 7: Turn pillow right side out and stuff with filler
Step 8: close the 5 inch gap that you left earlier and whala! you now have your very own ruffle pillow!
sorry for the lack of pictures... its hard to create and remember to take pictures at the same time.. hope you enjoyed this post... subscribe and comment and tell your friends :)
