I made my first babydoll halter top!!!

Today browsing through the as is section of job I found this fabric......

FOR 50 CENT!!!!!

A total steal!! I just couldn't wait to get home and "attempt" to make something! After thinking I decided to make a babydoll halter top...

So here's how I made it...

After doubling the fabric ( so I could make a front and back of the shirt) I measured from the top of my bust to the bottom at an angle and  also across.

Next I drew my shape on the fabric and then cut it out. I then pinned around it and sewed.

Next I used a piece of elastic.....

and sewed it inside the shirt right under the bust.

I then used some excess fabric to make the halter straps and sewed them onto the bust of the shirt.

I  then tried it on and whala!!!!! A brand new baby doll halter top!!....

 EXCEPT.......

Unfortunately There will be no pictures of me trying it on b.c I didn't do a good job at measuring the size of my bust and the cups are entirely too small! lol! I tried to wear a shirt underneath  but it did not look good with the back being out so.... with that being said I will probably be giving this shirt away.. LOL

Mens Tshirt Refashion

I took this long sleeved Mens button down shirt and turned it into a womens tube top :)

First I cut the bottom curve out the shirt, cut the sleeves out, and then cut across the breast. I used the sleeves to create a hem for the elastic for the top. I also added elastic to the midsection for a more feminine appeal.

Like the necklace?? Well it was my first attempt at making some shorts from scratch.... All was going well until i decided to get fancy and add a pocket... and well as you can see the shorts were an epic FAIL hence the necklace lol

Here are the shorts.....

And here is the closeup of the necklace....

Braided Flower Headband

So I was cleaning up the house today going through some stuff I haven't seen since we moved in this apartment... (smh) and I found this twine...

I have no idea where it came from but my guess is that you can find it at walmart... (they have everything... literally)

I cut two sets of 3 long strands of twine and braided them together each set separately.. then tied them together to make a double braided headband...

I also made a matching pair of earrings to match the flower (also out of twine) that was on the headband.

Here is a close up of the headband.

next I think I am going to make a belt and a necklace :)

Flower necklace

This is another cool tutorial on how to turn something old into something new... Except this was a shirt I still liked and was trying to do something fancy to it and winded up messing it up so......

Here is a picture of the original shirt..

First thing is to cut out 5 small circles out of felt

Next take the fabric of your choice.. in this case my silk shirt

Cut out as many small circles as your shirt / fabric will allow
( i had way more circles than this by the way)

next scrunch one circle up and glue it to the felt

do this as many times as it takes to cover up the black felt. ( it should then resemble a flower)

Repeat the above steps for each circle

take your black felt and glue the first 3 flowers into a shape that you like

add a chain to each side of the last two flowers and glue to the scrap felt

Cut the excess felt around the flowers and whala... you have a brand new fashion accessory

Not bad for camera phone pictures :)

Leather headband from Belt

I saw this really cool tutorial on how to salvage old things into something new and I decided to create this headband from an old belt that I never wear

Here is the belt... not a good photo I know...

First step is to cut out the pattern into little leaf shapes

Then arrange the shapes to resemble a big leaf on a felt backdrop

Next grab an elastic headband and glue your leaf onto the headband

I added a clip to the back of mine so I could remove it if I decided i wanted to wear it as a brooch instead of a headband

and whala... you have a brand new headpeace/ brooch for your wardrobe...
